Artist emails

I recently emailed three artists (Philip Bannister, Jackie Morris and Daniel Mackie) about where i should start when it comes to getting my name out there. I chose these particular artists because they have a traditional feel to their work like mine does. That way i can get feedback which should be more personal and helpful than that from an artist totally different from myself.

I am coming to the end of my second year of an Illustration Degree and am contacting artists with questions to help set me up for 'real life'. I have a fairly traditional style using mainly watercolours which doesn't seem very popular at the moment, even old fashioned compaired to the more contemporary work around. In that respect i believe we have something in common and would like to know what kind of work or opportunities are open to the more traditional illustrator? Also, where would be a good place to start in terms of getting my name known?
