At 10 o'clock last night i had an overwhelming urge to draw, so i grabbed the DK book 'Animal' and picked the brightest and cutest bird i could find. I did it straight away, in one go, and was done within twenty minutes. Then i spent another ten minutes this morning before college started to paint it.
I chose this particular bird because of its beautiful emerald green plumage and its characterful long head feathers. I love nature and don't want to take any credit for it, which is why i wrote the name on - to show i havent made it up.
I know this type of literal artwork isn't necessarily what college wants to see, but i enjoyed it so much i want to carry on in my spare time. I think i'll do a tropical bird series.
