Portfolio viewing 3

I went to see an artist called Wendy Carlton who does large paintings of stylised flowers. I'm always nervous when meeting new people but this time i was extra nervous thanks to a facial volcano. She was very nice and told me a lot about her work. She used to make a lot of greetings cards and sold then at the NEC in Birmingham and recommended, where possible, to leave your work with people for an hour to look through at their own pase. She has had work up in lots of places including Cafe's and dental surgeries. Some places, however, were making no attempt to sell her work or advertise her so she took her work back or asked them to buy it outright. She used to make a living off greeting cards so i think i'll try looking at that option. When looking at my portfolio she made pleased sounding noises and said they would be very suitable for book illustrations. Although she didn't say an awful lot about my work it was very interesting to hear her stories and i'd like to try and learn from her experiences.
