This is the final board for my Mustang image. It's my favourite one because it pushed me the furthest outside my comfort zone without looking aweful. It contains a mixture of acylic, collaged paper, PVA glue and varnish. The individual elements of the image have been cut out and reassembled using glue and two small screws (for which i have a nice screwdriver sized hole in my thumb now). The idea behind this was that the Mustang is the epitome of America, specifically the south. It's big, chunky, showy and bad for the planet. It has such a high reputation from patriotic Americans, dispite it being thirsty, unreliable and handles like a wardrobe. I paired it with other symbols associated with the south and rebellion, such as the whiskey bottle, confedorate flag, guns and a cigarette. I'm adding varnish and sanding areas down etc to try for the deshevelled/recycled look.
