I went to see the exhibition of Mervyn Peake's 'Alice' original drawings at Sheffield University. I chose this exhibition because his skratchy, cross-hatched style is what i like at the moment. I wasn't expecting much but i was very much mistaken. I was taken back by how fabulously detailed and fine the drawings were. I expected them to be large, shrunken to fit on the leaflet but in fact they were blown up to fit on the leaflet! All the images are smaller than A5 and the amount of tiny detail is amazing. They seem like nothing special on the internet but they lose so much in translation, i highly recommend going to see it if you're in the area...it's on till September (http://www.shef.ac.uk/library/exhibition/alice.html)
