Final Jaguar
This is my final Jaguar image painted on white washed hardboard. The idea comes from the swarve, 60's connotations of the E-type, easily pictured being driven by a handsome, young man with a pipe. It was also the pipe dream of working men, hence the car emerging out of the smoke. The colours and swirls give a gentle 60's vibe to show the feel and opinions of E-types aswell as the look.
Initially the car was an empty space created by the smoke to represent the Jag, but i couldn't get the outline quite right-it wasn't obviously an E-type. This problem was overcome by printing out a technical drawing as using it as a collaged element. Small areas of coloured smoke leak into the line drawing to link the two together. This gives the whole board a little more interest. There was something wrong and a little shoddy about the rectangular board, it didn't relate to the image, so i decided to trim the top, mimicking the smoke. This makes the whole board more interesting and has influenced me to change my other boards to interact with the image more.
