Hassan Torossian is currently exhibiting at Bank Street Arts in Sheffield as part of a drawing and illustration open submissions call, which unfortunately i missed. He is part of a collective called Super Crafts. super-crafts.com
All the work was screenprinted on plywood which has made me want to try screen printing again. I have been wanting to try painting on wood for a while now but always end up falling back onto good old reliable paper. I also want to try some airbrushing and glow in the dark spray paint.
I was amazed at how fine detail and hatching could be brought out with screenprinting, previously id thought it needed to be blocks of colour. All the prints at the gallery were single coloured but not boring or one dimensional with plenty of retro typography.
