Car series - Beetle

I've finally done a college picture that i like enough to want to put it in my portfolio, very proud of myself. I was struggling with the Mini earlier and turned out a picture i'm not happy with as it's just elements stuck together. Whereas here i've come at it from a different angle and tried to illustrate the main aspects of the car: air-cooled engine, the Hitler legacy and the name he gave it and the '60s aspect. The car was produced originally in the '30s in the dark Hitler era so it's in black and white. Hitler is shown with the hair and black registration plate being the moustache. He originally named it the KdF-Wagon (Kraft durch Freude-Wagon) which means Strength through Joy, which is nice on the surface but becomes quite scary when you realise it came from Hitler's mouth. I chose an army type stencil font to link to the history. The '60s style flowers are growing up to cover up the negative aspects and giving it posative connotations. And finally the Pocahontas stle wind is to show that the Beetle had an air-cooled engine in an interesting and abstract way, rather than a boring diagram.
At the moment it is only on A4 but if it makes the cut and i redo it as part of the final piece i would have the plants growing better around the car so the moustache and words can be seen properly. I'd also make the moustache look a bit more convincing.
